A Little More Love.

When the world gets a little colder,

And you got your brother crying on your shoulder,

give a little more love.

When somebody’s really got you down

And you want to fight, why don’t you turn around

And give a little more love.

And you’re gonna find, just in time

A certain kind of Peace of Mind.

Give a little more love, just a little

Give a little more love!

Give A Little More Love!

Yeah love, love, love, love!

When your heart is hurtin’ don’t give up,

You’re feeling empty, gotta fill it up,

With just a little more love.

It’s time to lift our spirits higher & higher,

I got a spark, you wanna build a fire,

With a little more love?

"Take It To The Limit"

All alone at the end of the of the evening
And the bright lights have faded to blue
I was thinking 'bout a woman who might have
Loved me and I never knew.

You know I've always been a dreamer
(spent my life running 'round)
And it's so hard to change
(Can't seem to settle down)
But the dreams I've seen lately
Keep on turning out and burning out
And turning out the same

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time
You can spend all your time making money
You can spend all your love making time
If it all fell to pieces tomorrow
Would you still be mine?

And when you're looking for your freedom
(Nobody seems to care)
And you can't find the door
(Can't find it anywhere)
When there's nothing to believe in
Still you're coming back, you're running back
You're coming back for more

So put me on a highway
And show me a sign
And take it to the limit one more time

Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit
Take it to the limit one more time

The broken dream that will never mend,

The cherished dream that will never end,

Giving up the race, before it’s even ran,

That isn’t me my friend,

no, it’s just not me my friend.

It’s hard to win when you’re not playin’,

ain’t no rainbow without it rainin’,

And small talk, just can’t change my mind,

Cause there’s something out there that I’ve gotta find,

And make it mine, yes make it mine,

I just need some time.

You may think I’m just a dreamer,

And you may think that you are free,

But are you what you really believe,

Or just a compromise to the green.

I know it’s hard to find a meaning,

It’s hard enough just to stay alive,

But dreams can drift into realities,

and I see that rainbow up above,

and I believe it’s following me,

I do believe, I do believe,

It’s followin’ me!

My Oreo.

Woman you know that I love you,

You know that I’ve told you before

Now everything is Champaign & moonlight

Since the day you walked through my door!

Girl you make me so happy,

With all of the joy that you bring,

You get me up, you got me feelin’ so snappy

And that’s the reason that I sing!

You got me dreamin’ every night,

Champaign & Moonlight,

You drive me crazy

& I hate it when you’re far away!

Yeah I used to laugh at romantics,

enjoyed my time with you, but nothing much more,

and then you opened up & shared what’s inside

you finally understood what hearts are for!

Love is like an Oreo Cookie,

I love the middle, yeah the filling’s my thing,

Sweetness of chocolate is all that surrounds me,

And that’s the reason that I sing.

These Eyes.

These eyes - cry every night for you
These arms long to hold you again
The hurtin's on me, yeah
But I will never be free, no, my baby, no, no
You gave a promise to me, yeah
And you broke it, you broke it, oh, no

These eyes - watched you bring my world to an end
This heart could not accept and pretend
The hurtin's on me, yeah
But I will never be free, no, no, no
You took the vow with me, yeah
And you spoke it, you spoke it, babe

These eyes are cryin'
These eyes have seen a lot of loves
But they're never gonna see another one like I had with you

These eyes cry every night for you
These arms, these arms long to hold you, hold you again, ahh

Everyone’s Life Story.

Sometimes he’s loud & sometimes he’s shy,

sometimes he’s down & sometimes he’s high,

he’s always thinkin’, about getting away,

swears he’ll do – one day,

but for now, there are things that are in the way,

Isn’t that everyone’s life story.

He closes his eyes, cause he don’t wanna see,

Drifts back in time, to where he used to be,

And although he’s got his freedom, he isn’t free,

He often indulges in self-pity,

Such is life, say “let it be,”

Isn’t that everyone’s life story.

He looks at the future in his destiny,

Cries out to Heaven, “won’t you hear my plea!”

Sometimes I feel so empty,

I need somebody, who needs me,

So we can both live happily,

Isn’t that everyone’s life story.

Isn’t that everyone’s life story.

Isn’t that everyone’s life story.

"The Only Child"

Boy of mine
As your fortune comes to carry you down the line
And you watch as the changes unfold
And you sort among the stories you've been told
If some pieces of the picture are hard to find
And the answers to your questions are hard to hold

Take good care of your mother
When you're making up your mind
Should one thing or another take you from behind
Though the world may make you hard and wild
And determine how your life is styled
When you've come to feel that you're the only child
Take good care of your brother

Let the disappointments pass
Let the laughter fill your glass
Let your illusions last until they shatter
Whatever you might hope to find
Among the thoughts that crowd your mind
There won't be many that ever really matter

But take good care of your mother
And remember to be kind
When the pain of another will serve you to remind
That there are those who feel themselves exiled
On whom the fortune never smiled
And upon whose life the heartache has been piled
They're just looking for another
Lonely child

And when you've found another soul
Who sees into your own
Take good care of each other

Thought It Was You.

You can say it don't matter to you
I can say it don't matter to me
but it ain't true anyway
what I think, I'm trying to say.

I'm not sure about my feelings no more
the more I search, the more I'm lost
every day it's the price you pay
but I'm not sure of what it cost.

So for now I'll stay lonely,
don't come and lead me on
I'm looking for honesty
the search may be long
Thought it was you - I was wrong.

I've heard "I Love You Forever"
every time it's so temporary,
that I can't listen now
to what I'd like to believe some how.

What's left to prove that's worth proving
what's left to keep that's not worth losing
I just don't know
but I think I better go.

All The Moons!

All the moons that loomed - & passed me,

They never dared to share - or ask me,

Even though - I was flying fast & free – on through the breeze,

Till you came along.

Oh my lovely lady - can’t you see,

How much I wanna make “us” - a part of me,

Like a wind that’s blowing through his tree,

To softly sing their song.

Was so lonely - living life - in my world of ONLY,

Was so lonely - winding my way - through the tears,

Till you met me and you let me - whisper softly,

All my poetry - of flowing free - for years!

I Love You!

Oh my gracious girl – I know it’s wrong,

To try to play our “selves” - without “our song”

In this concert of our loving lives – our tune belongs

So will you – promise to - sing along.

When the conductor sets down his baton,

The orchestra may stop, but we’re not gone.

our music never fades – it carries on.

As we forever – live our love – and sing our song.

First And Final Chance

I’m just a simple man,

A complicated kid,

Sometimes I wish I hadn’t,

Sometimes, I wish I did.

But anyway the world is turning round,

My candle keeps on burning down,

Till it finds me six feet in the ground.

So here’s my first and final chance,

To face the world and to take a stance,

To make it better or make it worse,

To see us fighting really hurts,

But I hope you see,

What a beautiful place, this could be!

Now I believe in the Golden Rule!

Peace is the aim – Love is the tool,

Keep on working thought the world is hard and cruel,

Cut off the rough to find the inner jewel,

But anyway the world is turning round,

My candle keeps on burning down,

Till it finds me six feet in the ground.

Destiny Before Me

I don’t need your hand-me down dreams, from some other time.

I don’t need your big, war machines – to give me peace of mind.

I just want to live my life & chase the visions I have seen.

Don’t want to hear the truths - that you perceive through magazine!

And I’ve got destiny, I’ve got destiny before me,

And I’ve got the will, I’ve got the will behind me,

And I’ve got GOD, and I’ve got GOD above me.

Don’t want to see myself, selling out to anything,

No matter how much wealth, that it may bring,

So speak your mind out – on what you fell is true,

The king has to worry down – to the last pawn too.

There may be little time – for the human race,

I’ll soon be leaving it behind, for a better place,

So I’ll just live my life – chase the visions I have seen,

Something inside tells me – it’s more than just another dream!

Upstairs Room.

There’s a young woman, in an upstairs room,

In a little town where rain falls & flowers bloom

And there’s an old boy, on a Livingroom chair,

He’s got a dream & a plan that’s gonna take him there.

He’s smiling at the past, then he grits his teeth,

He clinches his fist tightly & swears “no defeat,”

And then he turns on the music, to the tune,

Of a lady he remembers in an upstairs room.

The upstairs room lit up in candle light,

When the storm blew, we both lost our sight.

& I lost my love in an upstairs room!

There’s an empty space, where her love used to be,

He says it’s water under the bridge that takes its toll on me,

It’s been a long time, it ended much too soon,

Still he remembers the promise in an upstairs room.

One thing’s for certain, we can never be the same,

her voice and her image, still pounding in his brain,

And his heart afraid to open up another wound,

Forgives the lies spoken in passion in an upstairs room.

It’s What You Do.

You’re the vision in my dream I awoke to find,

Love is blind, but it’s alright this time.

Still you showed me what I had found,

Passion screams & sighs in a single sound.

And I wanna make you happy

Make reality feel like a fantasy.

Yes I wanna make you happy

It’s what you do to me!

As the years roll past & I look back,

I understand – you gotta work on it to last.

I wanna pass the test of time,

I wanna hold on to a love so warm & kind.
